PARDON OUR DUST!
From Henderson County, NC Government:
The Main Library will be undergoing some renovations and here is the first alert on what to expect:
Beginning on Monday, February 19th, new windows will be being installed in the Children’s Room. This job is estimated to take two weeks. Sections of the room may be blocked off depending on where the contractor will be working.
Also beginning on Monday, February 19th, the public restrooms will be closed for construction. The job is estimated to take 6 weeks. Please plan accordingly when you come to the Main Library during this time.
For approximately the first 2 weeks, from February 19th – March 2nd, the parking lot entrance will be closed to allow for restroom demolition. Patrons will enter through the side auditorium door during this time. Unfortunately, there are steps leading up to this door so the only ADA-accessible entrance will be the Washington Street entrance (pictured above). The parking lot entrance will be reopened once demolition is completed.
The library staff will use the curbside model to assist patrons with mobility issues who may not be able to come into the building while the entrance is closed.
If you have questions about coming to the Main Library during this time, please give them a call at 828-697-4725.
